Nigerian Senate Plenary Interrupted by Power Outage Plenary was briefly disrupted on Tuesday when power outage forced the Nigerian Senate to abandon proceedings.

The plenary however commenced after power was restored some minutes later. The President of the Senate, GodswillAkpabio, who apologized for the temporary hitch, described the outage as a technical glitch.

Sen Godswil Akpabio-Senate President The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has come under heavy criticism recently as a result of the incessant power outages in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Nigeria continues to grapple with the epileptic power supply s situation that has adversely affected several sectors of the economy.

 

The power problem worsened with the removal of fuel subsidies which escalated the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and AGO known as gas to all time high in the history of the country.
